About Ethan Laing
A big, warm hello to all!
It is with great pleasure that I announce my bike tour across the northern tier of our great country for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) during the summer 2016! Bike the US for MS accepted my application, and my goal is to raise the needed funds for my ride in support of my friends and all those afflicted with MS. My excitement is unreal!
Biking has been part of my family for decades. When my great-grandfather arrived in the United States from Germany after WW1 as a 17 year old, he chose to buy a bike and ride from Chicago to California and back in order to learn about his "new" country. Raised around bikes, I always wanted to get involved but did not have the time or means to finance this sport. Fortunately, I received my first road bike last August and discovered a strong desire and passion to ride, not only for my own well-being but also to benefit others.
A senior at Colorado Christian University, I will graduate in May 2016 and enter the business world to pursue career goals, but in the interim, I want to ride for the many with MS. With these in mind, I will depart Bar Harbor, Maine, travel west throughout the northern part of the United States, and finish the ride in Seattle, Washington.
I am beyond excited about this trip! There are few things as freeing as riding a bike, and I consider myself blessed with the opportunity to ride across America for 69 days! In order to accomplish this, I need to raise $1 per mile of the ride (4,295 miles). Each tax deductible contribution I receive will get me closer to my needed goal of $4,295. I invite you to be part of my journey to help those living with MS. Will you join me and support those with MS?
The easiest way for you to join me is by pressing the orange donate button next to my picture! Though riding across America will be a hearty accomplishment in itself, I am doing it for a bigger purpose. Please, join me in helping raise awareness and support for those living with MS.
