Bike: Bike shopping...could be Surly
Originally from coastal Maine, I grew up riding at an early age. Biking is a great way to explore new areas, meet new people, grab a workout, get dirty, and test your limits. As a graduate student in Urban Planning at Virginia Tech, I hope that I can help encourage more bicycle-friendly communities in the built environment. The Pacific Coast ride is truly the opportunity of a lifetime. And it's that much more special given that we are riding for such an important cause. Knowing folks with Multiple Sclerosis, I realize how debilitating the condition can be. I hope that this trip spreads national awareness for MS and provides necessary support to the James Q. Miller MS Clinic in Charlottesville, Virginia. What I am I most excited about? Biking through the great halls of the Redwood Forest. What am I most nervous about? Saddle sores and cougars (the mountain lion variety). Thank you for all of your support! Let's ride together in efforts to enhance MS research, encourage new treatments and improve the quality of life for those with Multiple Sclerosis.
